Behind the Project

Making The Milk Bag

The fourth installment of the Nik Bentel Studio drip bag. Made in a timeless white to contrast our sold out Ink bag, we went with embracing the American tradition of milk consumption.

Milk has been a staple in America for centuries starting from the period when settlers introduced dairy cows from Europe. This led to milk becoming a source of nutrition for the American population. With the country’s expansion the dairy industry flourished, firmly establishing itself in agricultural practices.

Additionally, milk is frequently depicted in media and advertisements as a representation of purity, wholesomeness and domesticity. The success of campaigns like "Got Milk?" highlights how ingrained milk is within culture. It is closely tied to family values and classic American cuisine – enjoyed during family meals, festive gatherings and featured prominently in beloved recipes, across the nation.

Mood Board

We decided to embrace this Western notion of milk for the creative direction, shooting photos and scanning them to emphasize the vintage and timeless qualities of milk that have been seen throughout history.
